Novel Canon Role: The Dagda wields the Lorg Mór directly in Book III's climactic battle for the Sacred Grove, striking down Armaeus's undead army and denying them any chance of resurrection — a direct dramatization of the club's mythological "kills the living, denies rebirth" property. The manuscript describes it as gnarled wood pulsing with otherworldly light, raised in the Dagda's hand "ready to kill any man or immortal that chose to defy him."

Known in the medieval tradition as the Lorg Mór ("Great Club" or "Great Staff"), sometimes also called the Lorg Anfaid ("Staff of Wrath"). One end of the club kills the living with a single blow; the other end restores the dead to life — a dual death/rebirth polarity built into the weapon itself. Folk tradition held that certain natural ridges and earthworks in the Irish landscape were the track left behind when the Dagda dragged the club behind him. Not one of the Four Treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann (Cauldron, Spear, Sword of Nuada, Stone of Fal) but a separate weapon closely associated with the Dagda in the same source material.
