Historical Appearance Notes: - No contemporary portrait survives. Main physical evidence is indirect via Childeric's grave finds and the reges criniti (long-haired king) convention.

Notes: - Baptism date debated: 496 (Gregory) vs c. 508 (Avitus correspondence). Heraldry & Royal Standards: - No national flag existed in 5th-century Gaul. The Banner of Three Toads, the Fleur-de-lis baptism legend, and the Cappa Sancti Martini are all later legend or later-attested practice, not contemporary record.
